The Ultimate Weekend Packing List (Carry-On Only, Obviously)

The Ultimate Weekend Packing List (Carry-On Only, Obviously)

Travelling Light? Here’s How to Pack for a 3-Night Trip Like a Pro

You’re heading off for a long weekend, Friday to Monday. You want to dodge baggage fees, breeze through airport security, and still have everything you need (plus room for souvenirs). That’s where this list comes in. It’s built for travellers who know the game: one carry-on bag, no wasted space, and no nonsense.

We made this for the BRAW Explorer Backpack, but if your bag’s got compression, compartments, and cabin-size compliance, you’ll be just fine. If not, well, maybe it’s time for an upgrade.

🧳 Your No-Fuss, No-Fail Weekend Packing List

🧼 Toiletries (Security-Check Approved)

  • Toothbrush + travel-size toothpaste

  • Deodorant (solid or mini spray, no excuses)

  • Shampoo/body wash (solid bars > liquids)

  • Razor

  • Hair products / makeup

  • Painkillers or must-have meds

Pro tip: Put all liquids in a clear food bag and stash them top-side or in your front mesh pocket. You do not want to unpack your pants in front of a full security queue.

👕 Clothing (You Need Less Than You Think)

  • 3 tops (mix comfort and “decent for dinner”)

  • 1 pair of trousers or shorts (not counting what you wear to travel)

  • 1 hoodie or light jacket (wear this on the plane to save space)

  • 4 pairs of pants (the underwear kind—always bring an extra)

  • 3–4 pairs of socks (depends how sweaty you get)

  • 1 pair of trainers (on your feet, not in the bag)

  • 1 pair of sliders or smart shoes (for beach, shower, or going out)

Packing tip:
Roll your clothes and layer them evenly into your vacuum section. Stuff socks inside shoes and zip the shoes away in the odour-proof compartment. Clean stays clean. Smelly stays sealed.

🔌 Tech & Essentials

  • Phone charger + cable

  • Power bank

  • Headphones (noise-cancelling if you’re fancy)

  • Passport or ID (use your hidden pocket like in the explorer bag)

  • Sunglasses

  • Book or Kindle (we won’t judge if it stays untouched)

  • Snacks (always)

  • Reusable water bottle (empty ‘til after security)

💡 Packing Strategy: The Smart Way to Fill Your Carry-On

Outfit, Not Options

You're away for three nights, not three weeks. Plan exact looks if you have to—but don't pack for "what ifs." You won’t need them.

Compression Is King

The BRAW Explorer Backpack features a vacuum compression panel. Fill it, zip it, compress it. Zip down the expansion panel if you’re flying Ryanair, and boom—you’re inside every airline’s size rules.

Pockets With Purpose

Use every compartment:

  • Top section: chargers, glasses, passport.

  • Mesh front: liquids pouch.

  • Odour-proof base: shoes and worn kit.

  • Main: rolled clothes and spare space.

Leave Wiggle Room

You're gonna come back with something—chocs, socks, fridge magnets. Leave 10–15% space in your main compartment. Or keep your dirty kit compressed and stack your new stuff on top.

Switch to Briefcase Mode

Once you’re through security, tuck the straps in and carry it like a briefcase. It slides under the seat or overhead without catching on stray limbs. Grab handles on the top, bottom, and side make train hops and terminal runs smoother too.

🧼 Keep It Clean (And Smell-Free)

Unworn clothes stay fresh when you keep worn stuff compressed in the odour-proof section. Dirty trainers? They stay sealed and separate. That means no stink, no risk of contaminating your only “nice dinner shirt.”
