The official Vueling cabin bag sizes for 2026

Checked against the Vueling help centre on 31 July 2026:

  • Free under-seat bag: 40 x 30 x 20 cm. It goes under the seat in front of you. Vueling's help article states no weight limit for it.
  • Larger cabin bag: 55 x 40 x 20 cm, up to 10kg. This one rides in the overhead locker. It comes with the Fly, Fly Grande and Fly Pro bundles and for Premium customers, and Fly Light passengers can add it.

The part people get wrong

Vueling publishes its gate fees, and they bite. Take a bag over 40 x 30 x 20 cm to the gate and it is 60 to 75 EUR per item, per flight. Anything over the 55 x 40 x 20 cm cabin size is 110 to 140 EUR per item, per flight. The sizer does not care what the bag cost. A soft bag built to the limit clears it. A hard case that reads 41cm at the wheels does not.

What fits a 40x30x20

The BRAW Explorer 2 measures 40 x 30 x 20 cm at base, the exact free Vueling allowance. Unzip the expansion and it opens to 40 x 30 x 25 cm, and that extra depth goes beyond the free allowance, so cinch it back down with the compression straps before boarding or fly it as your larger cabin bag on a Fly bundle. The shell is a 1050 Cordura shell with a 900d facing, so it holds its shape in the sizer without a frame adding bulk. Inside there is a padded sleeve for up to a 15in laptop and the ClipPod vacuum system for compressing clothes. It is £115, down from £135.

One bag, every airline

Vueling's free bag is the same 40 x 30 x 20 cm as Ryanair's and Wizz Air's free carry-on, and Jet2's under-seat bag uses the same figure. Buy the bag once and stop re-reading baggage pages. The full carrier-by-carrier picture is in our airline cabin bag size table, and if you fly Ryanair the Ryanair personal item guide has that exact rule.
