Wizz Air runs the same free bag size as Ryanair, and the same trap at the gate. Here is the official 2026 allowance, taken straight from the Wizz Air help centre, and how to use every centimetre of it.
The official Wizz Air cabin bag sizes for 2026
Checked against the Wizz Air help centre cabin baggage page in July 2026:
- Free carry-on: 40 x 30 x 20 cm, maximum 10 kg. It must fit under the seat in front of you. Every passenger gets this one included.
- WIZZ Priority trolley: 55 x 40 x 23 cm, maximum 10 kg. This is the paid tier, and it goes in the overhead compartment.
Wizz Air's page states that exceeding these dimensions results in extra fees. It does not print a single fee figure there, and third-party numbers drift, so check the fee for your route in your booking before you fly.
The part most people get wrong
The free bag is generous on weight, 10 kg, and tight on shape. The sizer at the gate does not care what your bag weighs. It cares whether the bag drops into a 40 x 30 x 20 frame. A structured case that measures 41 cm at the wheels fails. A soft bag built to the limit passes.
What actually fits 40 x 30 x 20
